Technician - Chemistry
Working within the Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education (HSSCE), you will undertake responsibility for the day-to-day operation, personal workload planning, monitoring and co-ordination of specific technical areas in the laboratories of our Chemistry and Pharmacy department initially and potentially in any area of the faculty. You will also provide practical support to laboratory-based classes and you will contribute to the resourcing, capital purchasing programs, procurement, order placement and monitoring of consumable stock levels and ensuring compliance and implementation of Health and Safety policies.
The Person
You should be qualified to HNC or equivalent in Pharmacy and Chemistry or a related subject, with good working knowledge of laboratory practices. You will be required to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders, therefore strong interpersonal, written and communication skills with excellent organisational and analytical skills are essential. The successful candidate should also have good IT and planning skills and the ability to manage their own workload. Relevant Health & Safety experience is essential.

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £29,071 per annum.
