Student Safeguarding Manager
The Student Life team at Kingston University is seeking a Student Safeguarding Manager to act as the operational lead on student safeguarding, leading on case management related to safeguarding and other complex student welfare issues. This will include delivering high quality support and advice to staff across the institution as well as leading on making external referrals where required.
You will also contribute to the coordination and development of our online staff and student reporting platform, Report and Support. You will deliver and coordinate awareness raising activity across the institution on related matters, such as White Ribbon Day and Adult Safeguarding Week.
The role is primarily based at our Penrhyn Road campus with some working from home considered, in line with current University policy and business need.
The Person
You will be educated to first degree level or have an equivalent level of professional experience. You will have a clear understanding of safeguarding and broader student welfare issues in higher education, as well as extensive experience of working on safeguarding cases and complex casework.
You will have the ability to maintain confidentiality & record keeping, to advise on the management of risk and to work under pressure with resilience. You will have experience of multiagency or partnership working. The ideal candidate would also have experience in working with a diverse client group and/or experience of developing & delivering staff training.
The role will require regular use of our online reporting platform and our student enquiry management system and therefore strong IT skills are also essential.

This in turn will create a culture of high performance that is inclusive, innovative, ambitious and enterprising.
The Student Services team provides the University’s first- and second-line services for students incorporating the Information Centre, Library and Learning Services, Specialist Course Support and Administration, Student Engagement and Student Life, Health and Wellbeing.
Services are designed to be accessible and inclusive of all students, to ensure their enquiries are resolved quickly and support is available to enable them to fully engage with and succeed in their studies.

This is a full time, fixed-term position for 12 months to cover maternity leave, with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum.
