Be a proactive member of the Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) leadership team contributing and leading on the strategic development and implementation of the University’s quality assurance and enhancement policies and procedures with a particular focus on collaborative partnerships and higher and degree apprenticeships.

The post holder will be responsible for managing, implementing and enforcing QAE policies, procedures and regulations related to collaborative partnerships and higher and degree apprenticeship, ensuring full compliance with internal and external regulatory bodies.

Provide expert advice, guidance and decisions on all aspects of the University’s QAE framework at either faculty and/or institutional level.

The Person

We are looking for a professional, friendly, self-motivated, and excellent team player. You will work closely with senior University staff as well as senior and executive staff from partner institutions.

You will have excellent communications skills, attention to detail, and a confident and proactive approach to your work. The ability to work with colleagues across all levels and departments within the University and from other institutions and regulatory bodies, both nationally and internationally, is essential. You will have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work confidently and sensitively with current and potential partners, independent apprenticeship assessors, inspectors and various other external bodies.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the quality assurance and enhancement regulatory framework(s) which apply to institutions in England, preferably in the areas of collaborative partnerships and higher and degree apprenticeships. Experience of working with quality assurance and enhancement processes, policies and regulations is a must.

Directorate/Function

The Academic Services Directorate includes Research & Impact, Knowledge Exchange, Academic Registry, Quality Assurance and Enhancement, the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre and Brand, Communications and Public Affairs. Collectively the Directorate supports academics in their research and KE activities and supports some of the University’s governance and decision-making committees, maintains academic regulations, develops and implements academic policies, oversees the quality and standards of academic provision and leads the development of education practices across the University.

The Directorate is responsible for stimulating cutting edge research, impact and knowledge exchange and supporting a vibrant community of graduate research students, to increase the volume, impact and visibility of our research and business activities. We actively liaise with Faculties and researchers to support and develop research activities across all disciplines and provide related training and development opportunities. We foster interdisciplinary working to promote, advance and share knowledge with the overall aim of securing new revenue sources and contributing to regional prosperity. Our goal is to foster and sustain a vibrant research culture in which our researchers and research students can flourish.

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £49,468 per annum.
