The role is to manage the operational delivery of a new research project: “Developing effective service models for Adult Palliative and end of life care for People with a Learning disability (DAPPLE)” (NIHR159160). A complex study with several work packages, it includes field work at study sites across England. The team includes researchers at Kingston University, Open University, University of Leicester and LOROS Hospice. Contributing stakeholders, including policy makers, professional organisations, family carers and self advocacy groups. The study is supported by an Advisory Group and Study Steering Committee. The post holder will have a leading role in co-ordinating the study and meeting administrative requirements. They will provide a key point of contact for study sites, project teams and panels, and regulatory approval bodies; manage queries, draft reports and updates for project oversight bodies and the NIHR; and support the preparation and dissemination of study findings.

The Person

The post holder has a postgraduate qualification in health services research, social sciences, psychology, sociology, nursing, or related discipline; equivalent qualifications or experience will be considered. Significant experience in project management of complex multi-faceted research studies is essential. The post holder will have advanced organisational and written communication skills. They will demonstrate enthusiasm, innovation and initiative when faced with challenges. It is advantageous to have experience of working with a range of collaborators and to be able to work at pace against deadlines.

This is a part time (14.80 hours per week), fixed term position available until 31 August 2027 with a starting salary of £17,274.80 per annum (40% pro rata to £43,187 per annum).
