Placement Team Leader (Practice Placements)
Practice Education (Placement Activity) accounts for up to 50% of a student’s course when studying a professional degree and is imperative to ensure our students have the relevant opportunity to gain experiences and the required skills for their chosen profession. The Placement Team Leader’s role is to oversee high quality, efficient and effective placement administrative support for students, academics, and placement providers. The post holder will utilise their extensive line management and administrative skills to support the workings of the team.
Working with and supporting the Practice Education Support Manager, you will manage a team of administrators to coordinate practice placements across a portfolio of programmes across the Health, Science, Social Care and Education (HSSCE) faculty. Using your enthusiasm and knowledge, you will coordinate administration work for practice placements for professions across HSSCE.
The Person
We are searching for an experienced, enthusiastic, proactive and organised individual to join the Practice Placement team. You will be line managing a team and supporting our placement activity work, whether this be refining processes, using your excellent communication and negotiation skills to support placement allocations, or using your analytical skills to process documentation on behalf of students in support of their placements.
You will need to have an excellent standard of ICT and literacy skills, be able to work independently to deadlines, and be able to communicate appropriately with internal and external stakeholders. You will be an effective team leader, and work across the wider team to support shared aims and goals in line with the University values.
Directorate/Function
The Practice Placement Team, within the Student Development and Graduate Success Department (SDGS) offers wide ranging practice-based education and training programmes across Nursing, Health Science, Midwifery, Social Care and Education which are informed by high quality and impactful research.
We have a successful track record in public and service user engagement to develop knowledge transfer partnerships and other enterprise activities.
The Student Directorate’s professional administration and support teams work together to ensure business and support services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of our students, staff, stakeholders and areas of work.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position for a period of 12 months, with a starting salary of £44,404 per annum (pro rata at 0.5 FTE). The role could be offered as a secondment opportunity.
