The student inclusion team at Kingston University is seeking a Student Inclusion Project Adviser to lead the development and delivery of initiatives & programmes to support student inclusion & equality. This includes the coordination of targeted programmes of work such as our Student Equality Collaborators programme and the award-winning Elevate programme.

You will act as the main point of contact for students participating in equality programmes, including coordinating work opportunities for the Equality Collaborators & KU Cares Connectors. You will project manage targeted programmes of work such as the Elevate programme, including supporting delivery & events as required.

You will contribute to the wider work of the student inclusion team for example through events, campaigns & communications activity.

The role is primarily based at our Penrhyn Road campus with some working from home considered, in line with current University policy and business need. Occasional work by rota on Saturdays is required to support student recruitment events (for which time off in lieu will be given).

The Person

You will be educated to first degree level or have an equivalent level of professional experience. You will be passionate about improving the experience & outcomes for underrepresented student groups, with particular knowledge of how widening participation & equality, diversity & inclusion agendas relate to students.

Experience of project management and working with stakeholders to achieve objectives is a core requirement for this role, with the ideal candidate also having the demonstrable ability to create and develop new projects to meet identified objectives.

You will have excellent organisation and communication skills as well as the ability & confidence to present to varying types & sizes of audience. The role will require regular use of our online portal for student worker jobs and therefore strong IT skills are also essential.

Directorate/Function

The Student Directorate aims to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for all current and future students to ensure they are “sought after” through supporting their participation, attainment, and success. This in turn will create a culture of high performance that is inclusive, innovative, ambitious and enterprising.

The Student Services team provides the University’s first- and second-line services for students incorporating the Information Centre, Library and Learning Services, Specialist Course Support and Administration, Student Engagement and Student Life, Health and Wellbeing.

Services are designed to be accessible and inclusive of all students, to ensure their enquiries are resolved quickly and support is available to enable them to fully engage with and succeed in their studies.
